Websites and hosting

Web design, hosting and website management.

We build mobile-first sites that explain your services clearly and are structured for search engines, then host and maintain them.

What a good website does for a business.

What it is

We build the site around the questions your customers arrive with: what you do, where you are, whether they can trust you, and how to reach you. It loads fast on a phone, search engines can index it properly, and it has the forms and booking your business needs.

What you get

Visitors can easily call you or send a form, and we make content changes, such as a new price or a new page, when you send them. We host the site, back it up, and apply patches on a schedule.

The cost of an unmanaged website

A slow or outdated site loses visitors to competitors. An unmaintained site can be hacked, go offline over a weekend, or stop delivering form messages without anyone noticing until a customer mentions it.

How it works

How a website project runs.

  1. 01

    Review and plan

Once the project is agreed, we review your current site, your competitors, and what people search for in your area, and document the pages, what each one says, and what the site has to do.

  2. 02

    Design and build

We write and design around your customers' questions, build it mobile first, and set up the technical SEO, analytics, forms, and booking before launch.

  3. 03

    Launch and maintain

We migrate the domain, submit the site to search engines, and maintain, back up and monitor it.

How we build, speed up and secure your site.

What do you build sites with?

Fast static or server-rendered sites deployed on a global edge network for most businesses, and WordPress where a client's team needs to edit content themselves. We pick the tool based on how you will maintain the site.

How do you handle speed?

Pre-rendered pages, optimized images, minimal JavaScript, and a content delivery network in front of everything. We measure Core Web Vitals before and after launch and keep monitoring them.

Is SEO included in a website build?

The technical foundation is included: clean structure, titles and descriptions, schema markup, a sitemap, fast loading, and correct redirects from the old site. Ongoing ranking work is a separate service under SEO and digital marketing.

What about security and backups?

HTTPS everywhere, security headers, a web application firewall, automatic backups, and monitoring that alerts us if the site goes down.

Who owns the site?

You do. Domain, content, design files, and code are yours. If you ever leave, we hand everything over in a form another developer can use.

Can you migrate my existing site?

Yes. We move content, map old addresses to redirects, test the new site, and retire the old site after the launch checks. Redirects give search engines a path from old URLs to new ones.

850 IT Services built us a brand new website and it's night and day compared to what we had. Fast, mobile-friendly, and they handled all the SEO so we're actually showing up in Google searches now.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a website take?

It depends on how many pages you need and how quickly the content and photos are ready, which usually takes longer than the build. We agree the order of work with you before we start, and you see pages as they are built.

Can I update it myself?

Yes. You can also send us changes, and we handle them under the management plan.

Do you work with sites you didn't build?

Yes. We can take over hosting and maintenance of an existing site after a review, and fix what is slowing it down or leaving it exposed.

What does it cost?

Web development is quoted after a discovery meeting, based on pages and features. Hosting and management are a flat monthly fee.
