In plain English

What a good website does for a local business.

It is not a brochure. It is the first employee most customers meet.

What it is

A site built around the questions your customers arrive with: what you do, where you are, whether they can trust you, and how to reach you. Fast on a phone, easy for Google to read, with the forms and booking your business needs.

What you get

Clear paths for calls and form submissions, performance-tuned pages, and someone to email when you need a price changed or a new page added. We host it, back it up, and apply patches on a schedule.

What it costs to ignore

A slow or dated site sends people to the next result. A site nobody maintains gets hacked, goes down on a weekend, or quietly stops sending you the form messages. You find out from a customer.

How it works

From first call to launch.

  1. 01

    Review and plan

We look at your current site, your competitors, and what people search for in your area. You get a short plan: pages, messages, and what the site has to do.

  2. 02

    Design and build

We write and design around your customers' questions, build it mobile first, and set up the technical SEO, analytics, forms, and booking before launch.

  3. 03

    Launch and maintain

We move the domain carefully so nothing breaks, submit the site to Google, and then keep it updated, backed up, and monitored every month.

For the technical reader

What the technical reader wants to know.

Open any question for the technical detail.

What do you build sites with?

Static or server-rendered sites built with Next.js and deployed on Cloudflare's global network for most businesses, and WordPress where a client's team needs to edit content themselves. We pick the tool that fits how you will maintain the site, not the one that fits us.

How do you handle speed?

Pre-rendered pages, optimized images, minimal JavaScript, and a content delivery network in front of everything. We measure Core Web Vitals before and after launch and keep monitoring them.

Is SEO included in a website build?

The technical foundation is: clean structure, titles and descriptions, schema markup, a sitemap, fast loading, and correct redirects from the old site. Ongoing ranking work is its own service under SEO and marketing.

What about security and backups?

HTTPS everywhere, security headers, a web application firewall, automatic backups, and monitoring that alerts us if the site goes down or changes unexpectedly.

Who owns the site?

You do. Domain, content, design files, and code are yours. If you ever leave, we hand everything over in a form another developer can use.

Can you migrate my existing site?

Yes. We move content, map old addresses to redirects, test the new site, and retire the old site after the launch checks. Redirects give search engines a path from old URLs to new ones.

850 IT Services built us a brand new website and it's night and day compared to what we had. Fast, mobile-friendly, and they handled all the SEO so we're actually showing up in Google searches now.

Questions

Things people ask about this.

How long does a website take?

It depends on how many pages you need and how fast the content and photos come together. Most of the calendar is content, not code. We agree the order of work with you before we start, and you see pages as they come together, not at the end.

Can I update it myself?

If you want to, yes. Most clients prefer to send us changes and let us handle them under the management plan.

Do you work with sites you didn't build?

Yes. We can take over hosting and maintenance of an existing site after a review, and fix what is slowing it down or leaving it exposed.

What does it cost?

A website build is quoted in writing after the review, based on pages and features. Hosting and management are a flat monthly fee.
