Two minutes. A person reads it, usually the same business day.
In plain English
What we see in law offices.
Law firms hold sensitive client files on everyday equipment.
Common problems
Case files spread across a shared drive, personal email, and a paralegal's laptop. Email that a client's compromised account can spoof. A server in a closet with a backup drive that stopped spinning months ago.
What we do about it
One document system with permissions per matter, encrypted email with multi-factor sign-in, daily tested backups, managed laptops, and a phone system that follows you to court.
What it costs to ignore
A leaked client file is a bar complaint and a malpractice claim. A lost one is a missed deadline. Both are cheaper to prevent than to litigate.
What we handle
What we handle for a firm.
These service pages explain how we handle each part.
Cybersecurity and compliance
Phishing protection, encryption, access rules per matter, and a written security plan you can show a client or an insurer.

How it works
From first call to a firm that runs quietly.
- 01
Free assessment
We look at where client files live, who can reach them, how email is protected, and whether the backups restore. You get a written report in plain English.
- 02
Lock it down
Encryption, multi-factor sign-in, permissions per matter, tested backups, and managed laptops come first. Then the phone system and remote access.
- 03
Managed, month after month
Monitoring, patching, and backups run quietly. Your staff has one number to call. We review the setup with you every quarter.
For the technical reader
For the partner who reads the engagement letter.
Open any question for the technical detail.
How do you keep one matter's files away from another?
Permissions per folder or per matter in Microsoft 365 or your document system, reviewed when staff join or leave. Access is logged.
What about email spoofing and wire fraud?
Domain authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) so receiving mail systems can reject mail that pretends to be your firm, phishing filtering, multi-factor sign-in on every mailbox, and staff training with test phishing emails.
Can staff work from court or from home?
Yes, through managed laptops with encryption and a secure connection back to the office, plus a phone system that rings on a cell phone without giving out the personal number.
How are backups handled?
Daily backups of the file system and Microsoft 365, kept in more than one place, tested by restoring files. Retention set to your policy and any hold you are under.
Will you help with a cyber insurance questionnaire?
Yes. Most of the questions are about controls we put in place, and we fill in the technical answers with you.
Questions
Questions law offices ask us.
Do you work with our case management software?
We handle the computers, network, backups, and security around it and coordinate with the vendor when the application itself misbehaves.
How fast do you respond?
If the whole office is down, a person is on it within 30 minutes during business hours. If one team or a key system is down, within 2 hours. If one person cannot work, or you have a request, someone is on it the same business day. Questions and projects get an answer the next business day.
What size of firm do you work with?
Established practices with attorneys and support staff, including firms across more than one office.
Do we need a long contract?
No. Managed IT is a monthly agreement, and the assessment costs nothing.
